From the creative minds at FOXBOY Productions, Secrets of the Burrow: Vixoria’s Quest is a 3D platformer inspired by classic animated films. With fast-paced combat, emotional storytelling, and a painted fairy-tale aesthetic, this is a journey you won’t forget.

“This game is a love letter to the adventures we grew up with,” says Kevin Asla, Creative Director at FOXBOY Productions. “We wanted to create something that felt like stepping into a living 2D animated movie. With all the heartfelt and comedic storytelling that was par for the course with Disney/Dreamwork movies in the 90’s & 00’s.”

Behind the Visual Style

To celebrate the trailer’s launch, we’ve also released a developer diary exploring how we approached the game’s unique visual style—merging 3D gameplay with 2D animation techniques to create a world that feels like a moving painting.

FOXBOY Productions Announces Debut Title

FOXBOY Productions, an independent UK-based game studio, has officially announced its first game, "Secrets of the Burrow: Vixoria’s Quest," a 3D action-adventure platformer set to release in 2025.

What is Secrets of the Burrow?

A heartfelt, 2D animated-movie-style 3D platformer where players switch between two unlikely heroes to uncover ancient secrets, solve puzzles, and fight through a cursed forest kingdom.

What makes this game special?

Dual-Character Gameplay with Distinct Mechanics and Storytelling

Players switch seamlessly between Vixoria, an inexperienced yet naturally gifted princess with a knack for puzzles and agility, and Foxalot, the kingdom’s greatest knight whose momentum-based attacks deliver powerful blows.

Striking Painterly Visuals Inspired by Classic 2D Disney Films

We’re crafting a world that feels like it was pulled straight from a hand-painted animation cel.
Environments are rendered like painted backgrounds, characters pop like 2D illustrations, and lighting is
warm, stylized, and story-driven.

Fluid Platforming

Experience parkour-inspired traversal with wall-running, jumping, and sliding mechanics, allowing the players to explore the forest’s vibrant terrain.

Combat Unlike Anything in the Genre

Emotional, Character-Driven Moments Around a Central Campfire

Between levels, players return to a central campfire where characters reflect on what they’ve learned, tease each other, and reveal pieces of their pasts.
These narrative beats are intimate and character-driven. Offering, depth, and emotional connection.
The fire is where the heart of the game lives, and where your bond with the heroes truly grows.

Founded by Kevin Asla, FOXBOY Productions was born out of a love for games, hand-crafted worlds, and the kind of adventures that stay with you long after you put down the controller. Our mission is simple:
